Small Groups at Asbury Memorial

Examples of Small Groups:

-         Jesus and the 12 Disciples

-         The early Church (Book of Acts)

-         John Wesley’s Holy Clubs

Why Small Groups?

To feed the spirit

1)     To be in relationship with others (intimacy, community, support, encouragement)

2)     To grow spiritually (in knowledge & in faith)

- To have a place to ask a question, express honest doubt, vent frustration, even anger at God, express our joys & celebrations

3)     To serve others

What’s the Format?

The time together will be for 1½ hours and will be made up of 3 components:

1)     Sharing

2)     Study*

3)     Prayer

*The study will be based around a biblical text – the text that was used for Billy’s sermon.  So Billy’s sermon may in a sense “prime the pump.”
