Asbury Memorial Church worship service for December 22, 2019, the 4th Sunday of Advent


	Prelude The Prelude for the worship service of the 4th Sunday of Advent ... "Joy to the World". a four-hand piano duet by Warren Heilman and Kay Deffley

	Announcements Sandy McCloud gives the announcements at the Dec 22 worship service

	Lighting of the Advent Candle of Love, Choral Response and Prayers of the People Margaret CLay & Carlton Angell light the Advent Candle of Love followed by the choral response from the choir. Rev. Susan Karlson then follows with the Prayers of the People

	Scripture Reading The reading of the scripture of Matthew 1:18-25
	Announcements & Anniversary Rev Billy Hester gives several important announcements including info about the Christmas Eve service at 6:30 pm then gives recognition to those who have been volunteering for the church and acknowledges to Rev. Susan Karlson to her promotion and to Danny Beam for his promotion to being music minister at White Bluff Methodist. He also wishes Dottie and Jim Kluttz a happy 53rd wedding anniversary.

	Sermon: Rev. Billy Hester gives his sermon; "The Unsung Hero" based on scripture from Matthew 1:18-25. There are many unsung heroes that play important roles in the lives of many others including you and me.

	Anthem The Asbury Choir and musicians perform "The King Shall Come When Morning Dawns", an anthem written by Charles McCartha. Cello: Sarah Povie, Piano: Kay Deffley, Director: Ray Ellis

	Cloths for the Cradle An Asbury Memorial tradition, the placing of the Advent cloths into the cradle on the 4th Sunday of Advent. This will be used in the Christmas Eve service for the nativity scene.

	Song Cheri Hester sings the song; "Grown-Up Christmas List" on the 4th Sunday of Advent at Asbury Memorial Church. The song was composed by David Foster (music) and Linda Thompson-Jenner (lyrics) with a verse appended by Amy Grant

	The Benediction Rev. Billy Hester gives the benediction followed by Cheri Hester signing to the congregation as they respond with "Here I Am Lord"
